Ben Kinsella, the schoolboy murdered in north London, was stabbed by youths jealous of his popularity, a friend has claimed.
The 18-year-old, who asked not to be named, was outside the Shillibeers pub in Islington on the night the 16-year-old died.
He said the innocent teenager was approached by a youth who then left before returning five minutes later with three other youths who chased Ben up the road and stabbed him to death.
"I know that a lot of commotion was going on in the club," he said. "I was told that someone said to Ben outside the club that they were going to come back.
