a lot of rain, but the new Cally Park is taking shape

Caledonian Park, Holloway, Islington George Bernard Shaw : People are always blaming circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get ahead in this world are people who get up and look for the circumstances they want; and if they can’t find them, make them.

Kings Cross gyratory We are reviewing the road network in the Kings Cross area to make it safer for all road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists. A strategic review was launched in December 2011. It will consider the future operation of the Kings Cross gyratory system and consider changing the one-way roads to two-way. Next steps Work has started on a feasibility study (the first part of the strategic review) and we have appointed a consultant to examine the area. Support The Highgate Men's Pond Association negotiations with City of London to protect Highgate swimming

The Highgate Men's Pond Association has some simple main objectives: to keep the pond as it is as much as possible, and to represent our members views to the City of London. The City currently have plans to work on the dams on the Heath (which would close the ponds for months), they also plan to rearrange the toilets and entrance at the Men's Pond. At the very least we wanted to be included in discussions about both sets of works... If you've got any queries or any thoughts you want to share with the HMPA committe please contact ... However the gyratory and the one way on Brecknock and down the top of York Road actually make this a dangerous place for the unwary, when it could be tidied into a cycle friendly route to a people friendly green space  www.caledonianpark.org.uk From: London Cycling Campaign < campaigns@lcc.org.uk > Date: 6 July 2012 15:51 CLICK HERE TO VIEW AS A WEB PAGE Mayor tells Transport for London to Go Dutch  We're delighted Boris Johnson has told Transport for London to study our Go Dutch principles in detail with a view to implementing them across London. My pocket still empty .... Give @DalaiLama a million and he gives it away St Paul's #DalailLama #TempletonPrize #StPauls Tibet’s spiritual leader called on nations to tackle the ongoing global economic crisis with “optimism and hard work” stating that “any problem which is created [by man], we must have the ability to solve.” After learning of last summer’s riots he said the root cause of such violence was young people "being brought up to believe that life was just easy.” “Life is not easy,” he added. “If you take for granted that life will be easy, then anger develops, frustration, and riots."

Highgate ponds are Chalybeate waters, also known as ferruginous waters

London facts! Hampstead Heath Post lunch dip .... 12 degrees ... for all year swimmers: when the temperature of the pond is ten degrees, it is warm. For me still a bit cold! Chalybeate waters, also known as ferruginous waters, are mineral spring waters containing salts of iron.

When it gets above 10 degrees, we don't consider it cold
