The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations
2012 as amended - Notice of Consultation on the proposed Inclusive
Design SPD

Islington Council is consulting on its draft Supplementary Planning
Document on Inclusive Design (design standards including those for
accessible housing and inclusive student accommodation) from Monday
30th September until Monday 11th November 2013.

The draft SPD sets out the Council's approach to Inclusive Design,
which applies to all aspects of design, and sets basic minimum
standards for some of the most commonly occurring design elements,
which will be applied through the planning process within the borough
of Islington. It updates the current standards for flexible housing
and wheelchair accessible housing in Islington and provides an
interpretation of those standards for student accommodation.

During the consultation period, the draft SPD and other supporting
documents are available:
· online at www.islington.gov.uk/inclusivedesign
· in hard copy from the Municipal Offices, 222 Upper Street N1 1XR
(Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm)
· for reference in all ten of Islington's libraries (find your
local library at www.islington.gov.uk/Education/Libraries/Local)

Any comments should be sent to the Planning Policy team:
· in writing to: Freepost, RSEA-CUHA-YYAS, Planning Policy,
Islington Council, 222 Upper Street, London, N1 1XR
· By e-mail to: ldf@islington.gov.uk

You can also let us know your thoughts on the draft SPD by completing
our online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PCKLSV6.

Any comments on the Supplementary Planning Document may be accompanied
by a request that the council notifies you in writing at a specified
address when it is adopted by the council. All comments will be made
publicly available.

For further information, or to access the above document in a
different format such as large print, audio or easy read, or a
different language or if you would like to discuss the document with a
member of the team (perhaps with the assistance of BSL interpretation)
please contact the Planning Policy team by email at
ldf@islington.gov.uk, by telephone on 020 7527 6799 or by SMS Text to

Gangs of new Britain

Gangs of new Britain By Olga Craig, Sunday Telegraph Last Updated: 1:07am GMT 11/02/2007 No one knows for certain which newspapers Terry Adams took. Indeed none of us knows for sure that he took any at all. What we do know, however, is that what Mr Adams did take was a very great deal of pride and satisfaction in the fact that, until last week, his name and photograph were rarely, if ever, to be found in their pages. Not that he isn't a vain man, one for whom reputation, respect and standing matter little. Quite the contrary. Adams is very proud of his notoriety among his local, north London community: what he has spent a lifetime avoiding is public recognition. No longer. This morning, Adams, the godfather behind a £200 million business built on murder, drugs and money-laundering, whose catch-phrase is "give him a slap", will wake up in Belmarsh, south London's high security prison, after admitting a five-year conspiracy to hide £1 million. While he was handed a 14-y...
