Prisoner’s friend caught with a sockful of cocaine

300 held in Operation Trawler campaign against drugs and knives

A FRIEND of a Pentonville inmate was arrested outside the prison walls with a sock stuffed with cocaine and a mobile phone.
Detectives believe the man was about to throw the drugs to his accomplice in the exercise yard of the prison, off Caledonian Road, Holloway.
His arrest was part of Operation Trawler, a massive anti-drugs and knife swoop last month. Detective Chief Inspector Adrian Usher said: “Officers were patrolling outside the prison when they saw the man. When he was searched, officers found a sock containing a mobile phone – a big currency in prison – and cocaine.”
Drugs dogs were used to check visitors to the prison. One man was arrested carrying £400 worth of heroin as he queued to see an inmate.
Operation Trawler resulted in about 300 arrests and culminated in an anti-drugs operation around the bars and clubs of Farringdon on Friday night.
A woman was arrested when a drugs dog picked her out in a queue and she was found to have 40 ecstasy tablets hidden in her bra.
Drugs dogs were used along with uniformed and plain-clothes officers, some of whom posed as clubbers. A number of undercover police"

Ben Kinsella, 16, the younger brother of actress Brooke Kinsella, 24, died after being knifed in York Way shortly after 2am on Sunday. Police are now investigating whether Ben was involved in an argument with a group of men in the street after he came out of Shillibeers pub that night. After the assault, Ben was taken to The Whittington Hospital in Magdala Avenue, Archway - but could not be saved. The killing comes on the anniversary of the fatal stabbing of another Islington teenager, 14-year-old Martin Dinnegan, who was knifed to death in Holloway on June 26 last year. Ben, who lived with his family in Lonsdale Square, Islington, had just finished his GCSEs at Hollo...

The killers of Ben Kinsella were gangster wannabes * * By Ryan Parry 12/06/2009 (L-R) Alleyne, Braithwaite and Kika (Pic:Met Police) (L-R) Alleyne, Braithwaite and Kika (Pic:Met Police) As members of the Market Massiv' gang, Michael Alleyne, Jade Braithwaite and Juress Kika demanded respect and loyalty. They fancied themselves as gangsters but in reality they were drugdealing cowards, armed with guns and knives, who needed ferocious Staffordshire bull terriers for protection. After gang leader Alleyne, his deputy Braithwaite and the lowly Kika were convicted of Ben Kinsella's murder, a source close to the group - too scared to reveal his identity - broke ranks to speak to the Mirror. He said: "They thought they were real bad boys walking round with their Staffs and a knife in their pocket. Mikey (Alleyne) had two Staffs and thought he was untouchable. This was his manor, no one could come down here and f*** with it. "They worked in twos for protection and they...
